I’m bringing legwarmers back this season; sorry in advance
I'm so glad you reblogged slaphat's doughnut giveaway, I got some the other day and they were really good. LIKE REALLY GOOD. I might actually pay for some next time. yum.
our parents don’t understand why we spend so much time talking to people on the internet
Lovely little handmade linen patches.
this changes everything
I don't know Macs either but you can usually confirm a dead CMOS battery if your PC won't hold the correct date & time after a reboot (without the internet connected to update the clock post-boot) all the best
thank you, but it won’t boot at all

"Some people don’t sleep at night - I am one of those people. These pictures were taken long after everyone had gone to bed - I would begin after midnight and go until 4 or 5 in the morning. I stopped at sunrise - like a vampire… I never really thought anyone would ever see these pictures, they went into shoeboxes, where they remained. I did everything - I was the stylist, the makeup artist, the furniture mover, the lighting director. It was my joy - I was the model…" Stevie Nicks

1. thank you, I looked this up and ran the smc reset. the MagSafe light changed status as indicated would happen if the smc reset was successful. still hanging on boot unfortunately
2. thanks for the suggestion, I will keep this on hand for when I get to hardware solutions
I will be continuing to run public tech support for my laptop until fixed or declared hopeless, so mucho apologies to bored followers. feel free to temporarily unfollow or to blacklist the tag “#puterfix” which I will be using from now on to tag these posts.
ok Mac techs: I have the dual login security measure enabled on mavericks. my os just shat itself. need to safe mode or reset pram. how?
note that: onboard keyboard and trackpad are non responsive on boot. USB mouse &keyboard work on first login. after first login, stuck loading on Apple or no entry signs. “update needed” appeared once but not again. safe mode and pram reset shortcuts do not work on first boot or after first login.
pram reset and disk repair/verify completed. no change, still hanging indefinitely on boot
Can you enter Hardware Test? (Hold down “D” key on boot).
This will usually determine whether you’ve got a logic board problem (Bad memory will mask logic board issues, and that hang on boot is usually a memory issue.)
Can you enter startup volume manager to access your recovery partition? (Hold down “Option” on boot).
That “update needed” is concerning, because all I can think of is the EFI update to use Internet Recovery
thanks for the advice, I tried both. results:
unable to run hardware test. using onboard keyboard or USB keyboard, holding d from startup has no result other than slightly delaying the appearance of the login window. the AHT icon never shows up.
I was able to access the startup volume selector but the only option in the drop down was my regular HD. no recovery partition was available
