the bruises were unplanned; they came to me in a fugue while i was sitting under my desk waiting to die.

the “rain” is copal medium.  i think i’ll do a final coat of working varnish in a few days to bring out the values a bit better in a sort of satin finish; the droplets should stay shinier than everything else.

i might write more about this later.
