found out today that my boss (a thirty something year old man) thought that there was only one gas giant in the solar system, and that it was venus. the knowledge that i take for granted.
I'm always saying that it's incredible the really tiny amount of stuff you have to actually know to be a completely normal functioning adult with no real problems. knowing a lot of stuff actually seems mutually exclusive with being functional most of the time

i feel like the sleep specialist who told me to look at bright light in the morning and go for a long walk outside (i already do this, i own a dog) because it will “wake me up” fundamentally misapprehends the nature of the problem because what happens is i immediately fall asleep again when i get back from the long walk, because i am tired from walking, because i am extremely ill
More places need to start hosting "goth nights" to boost turnout. Goth night at the bowling alley, goth night at the mini golf, goth night on the local public radio station, goth night at the antiques store, the library, oil change, laundromat, tea shop, etc etc. I am correct.
