this website/org?? seems very interesting but I’ve been on it for about ten minutes and reading carefully and I still can’t tell what they actually do, who they are, what their purpose is, etc
I respect the attempt but everyone needs to go back to first principles for website design because this is baffling. the About drop-down has a dozen similes for “About”. I have to read your Creed page AND your Philosophy page? for the purposes of website design those should really be the same thing. it’s just a lot. and the sort of millennial self-care, hypersensitive, cajoling-coddling tone makes me recoil. I know it’s sincere and meant with love in this case! but man I hate it. it’s a major reason I do not interact with orgs like this. “chew on our website” please just speak normally to me I am not a shareholder. this is shareholder-obfuscation type language for corpo environments and it’s so hostile to bullshit-averse readers even when, as in this case, it’s not marketing crap like it usually is. the association with marketing crap is still too strong, you know?
anyway this website seems interesting and the org seems interesting and I can’t tell yet but it seems like they may have good resources somewhere on here. I signed up for their mailing list and I’m interested in what they’re doing?
I wish the art and fashion students on here who have such interesting blogs would actually post more about their daily lives and projects instead of just posting single atmospheric pictures from deep inside various private colleges and Williamsburg apartment shares with captions like “this project is killing me thank god lesley knows a guy” and it’s a picture of like some stained glass soldering slag in the shape of a Cool S and four pieces of reclaimed upholstery leather on a perfectly white worktable. I like those posts too I just wish I ever knew what art show they were preparing for or what the assignment is or how it all went
I do need to refresh my extremely outdated knowledge of what Linux users are actually using for art and music creation these days though. last time I looked into the subject or used Linux was about 20 years ago and the situation was extremely grim. I have to assume things are marginally better now
