unfortunately i am not well-represented in archival photos of goths from the turn of the century because as early as age 15 i absolutely refused to “dress like everyone else” even when it meant doubling down and not wearing all black at actual goth events (where everyone is already not dressed like everyone else). so if it’s a photo of me it’s like a bunch of beautiful archetypal Goths, and then one person who looks like theyre on break and wandered in from the soundstage that was filming a completely different movie next door
for example, despite the extremely low resolution i bet you can figure out which person in this photo from Convergence 6 (a goth convention) is me, wearing a vintage piece i had just picked up a few weeks before. not old enough to attend on my own, my wonderful father agreed to escort me and had a great time (not pictured)
